Nurse Practitioner

A Richland native, Lindsay earned her nursing degrees from Hinds Community College and UMMC, where she completed her Master’s Degree in Nursing in 2017. Before joining Mississippi Arthritis Clinic in 2020, she gained valuable experience in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Long-Term Acute Care, and Primary Care.

“I am a passionate nurse who truly cares for my patients and enjoys getting to know them, not only medically, but personally as well,” Lindsay shared. “I find it most important to educate patients on their disease and medications—and I’ll spend as long as it takes to make sure they understand.”

Outside of work, Lindsay enjoys cheering on Mississippi State, spending time with family and friends, and keeping up with her husband, Talon, and their three girls.

Sherra Carr, FNP-C

Sherra Carr

Nurse Practitioner

A Brandon native, Sherra has built an impressive career rooted in compassion and care. She earned her nursing degrees from Hinds Community College, Delta State University, and UMMC, and brings more than a decade of diverse experience in surgery, dermatology, and orthopedics.

“What I love most about Rheumatology and working at Mississippi Arthritis Clinic is that it’s such a unique environment where patients become family,” Sherra shared. “I enjoy getting to know my patients on a deeper level as we work through their health concerns and find the right treatment.”

When she’s not caring for patients, Sherra stays busy with her husband, Ryan, and their six boys.

Julie Harper Nurse Practitioner

Julie brings valuable experience in family medicine, urgent care, and palliative care. She earned her nursing degree from Mississippi University for Women in 2014 and completed her Family Nurse Practitioner degree at UMMC in 2020. Julie joined our team in 2022.

“I love developing long-term relationships with our patients and walking through life with them as they navigate these diseases,” Julie shared. “It’s truly special to be part of their journey toward better health.”

Julie and her husband, Drew, live in Enterprise, MS, with their four children. Drew also owns a small business in Meridian, and together they look forward to continuing to serve the community they now call home.

Ali Shackelford Nurse practitioner

Ali Shackelford

Nurse Practitioner

Originally from Canton, MS, Ali began her nursing journey at Holmes Community College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing in 2019. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2022. Before joining Mississippi Arthritis Clinic in 2023, Ali gained valuable experience working in medical-surgical nursing and the emergency department at both UMMC and Baptist Yazoo.

“What I love about Rheumatology is the patients,” Ali shared. “Even in a short time, I’ve already formed such meaningful relationships. I’m grateful to walk alongside our patients as we navigate and manage their diseases together.”

Ali and her husband, Hunter, live busy and fulfilling lives with their two children, Harlan and Ruby — and when she’s not at the clinic, they share a passion for animals through their small equine rescue.

Jordan Morris Nurse Practitioner

Jordan Morris

Nurse Practitioner

Jordan is originally from Mobile, AL, but grew up in Jackson, MS, where she graduated from Jackson Academy. She attended Ole Miss, earning her degree in Psychology before completing her BSN and MSN at the University of South Alabama. Jordan began her nursing career in 2012 in the Emergency Room at St. Dominic’s, later working in Family Medicine as a Nurse Practitioner before joining us in Rheumatology.

“I love being an NP, especially at Mississippi Arthritis Clinic, because of the relationships I’ve built with my patients,” Jordan shared. “We work together to find the best treatment to fit their needs — and sometimes that means helping beyond medicine. We’ve laughed and cried together. We’ve built a special trust and bond that allows me to walk with them in a meaningful way.”

Jordan is married to Daniel Morris, and they have three children. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, traveling with her family, and finding new adventures together.

Michelle Smith Nurse Practitioner

Michelle is originally from Richland, MS, and began her nursing journey at Holmes Community College, later earning her BSN from Mississippi College. She completed her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of South Alabama in 2022. Before joining Mississippi Arthritis Clinic in 2023, Michelle spent six years as an RN at St. Dominic’s, caring for patients on the post-op orthopedic and neuro surgery unit.

“I enjoy being a NP in rheumatology because I get to help people manage chronic conditions and improve their quality of life,” Michelle shared. “It’s rewarding to build lasting relationships with my patients and make a real difference in how they feel every day.”

Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Keifer, and their daughter, Peyton.

Lauren Rivers

Lauren Rivers

Nurse Practitioner

Lauren is originally from Richland, MS, and began her nursing education at Hinds Community College, where she earned her Associate Degree in Nursing. She later completed a Master’s in Healthcare Administration at UMMC, followed by her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Walden University.

Since beginning her nursing career in 2014, Lauren has gained extensive experience caring for patients in both the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU).

“I enjoy forming meaningful relationships with patients and helping them manage chronic conditions that impact their daily lives,” Lauren shared. “Rheumatology allows me to provide ongoing support and education to improve my patients’ quality of life. I enjoy getting to know my patients as individuals — they often become like family.”

Outside the clinic, Lauren loves spending time with her husband and their three kids, going to church, cheering on Ole Miss, and watching her husband fly helicopters or race dirt cars. And when she gets a quiet moment, you’ll find her listening to a good audiobook!
